Interested in music and films in general. Martial arts enthusiast - studied several styles at varying degrees. Thinks too much. Bit of a philosopher.

I think that as I've got older, I've mellowed out a lot. These days I'm pretty laid back. I take pretty much everything with a pinch of salt, and try not to let myself get worked up over things too much. I find that I can spend hours just listening to instrumental music, or reading a book...or lying on the grass in the park staring at the clouds...or looking at the stars at night. Its strange really, because these are things that would have bored me when I was younger.

My outlook on life changed dramatically after I left for university, and even more when I came back home. It was as though I realised that everything society had conditioned me to believe was a lie. It was all a system of control. That was the start of my research into taoism, and extension of my martial arts training into the mental conditioning...which I never quite understood before. Even though he expelled me nine years ago, I like to think that my Sifu would be proud of me now.

When I started coaching Hamstead Diamonds, a local youth football team, in summer 2007, I finally felt "at home". It gave me some kind of inner peace, so to speak. A year later, I got together with my current girlfriend (who had been a friend for around two years already) and everything started to feel as though it was balancing out. After years of instability, uncertainty, and misdirection...I feel as though I now have some clarity, some stability, and an unwavering eye set on the horizon. I feel as though I finally know the path I want to walk, and it is that there is no path. Finally, the skies are no longer clouded, and when it rains, it cleanses rather than being the cold, unrelenting pelting of pains, problems and solitude.

Relative peace of mind is a beautiful thing.
